Based in Edson, Alberta, LEAP brings together programs, resources, community supports, and opportunities designed to help children and families participate, connect, and thrive close to home.
LEAP grew from the passion of local parents and professionals who wanted families raising children with differing needs to have better access to supports, resources, and opportunities within their community.
The Society is guided by a volunteer elected board and supported by Society members, community partners, donors, and volunteers.

Discover Our Journey So Far
Edson LEAP Society was established in 2020 to support local families raising children with diverse needs.
From the beginning, the goal has been simple: help families access meaningful support and create more opportunities for children and youth to participate fully in community life.
Today, LEAP provides and connects families with a growing range of programs and supports, including parent and child groups, respite, community outings, consultation, financial assistance, developmental clinics, physical activity opportunities, and other specialized services.
LEAP operates from the lower floor of Edson’s historic Red Brick building and continues to grow alongside the families and community it serves.

LEAP is supported by families, volunteers, professionals, community organizations, donors, and local partners who believe children of all abilities should have opportunities to participate and belong.
Community support helps LEAP provide programs, specialzed resources, financial assistance, and other opportunities directly to families in the Edson area.

LEAP has made such a huge difference in Zion’s life and in our family’s life as well.
When we look back at where Zion started and see where he is today, our hearts are filled with so much gratitude. Every little milestone, every new skill, every moment of confidence and independence reminds us how far he has come.
LEAP has given Zion more than therapy. It has given him opportunities to learn, communicate, explore, and believe in himself. The patience, dedication, encouragement, and genuine care of the people who work with him have helped him discover abilities we once wondered if he would ever develop.
And as parents, LEAP has also given us hope. It taught us to celebrate the little victories, to trust the process, and most importantly, to never underestimate what Zion can accomplish.
We know there will always be challenges, but now we face them with a different kind of confidence. We have seen what is possible when a child is given the right support, patience, and people who believe in him.
Thank you, LEAP, for being part of Zion’s journey and for making such a meaningful difference in our family. We will forever be grateful for everyone who has believed in our little boy and cheered for every milestone along the way.
